"Waiting for the first load"

This print is the second companion to the premier print "Done Balin'" in which the farmer, having finished his baling, has stopped for a well earned rest while he contemplates the results of his toil.

Meanwhile, this Beardie is becoming weary of waiting for his master to start loading the bales onto the trailer to take them to the barn. But chewing on a stick certainly helps pass the time!

Incidentally, the trailer belonged to my neighbour and was in a worse condition than you see it here... which is a pity - because I own it now!

The original drawing took 45 hours to complete and remains in my private collection.
